After being sidelined at Saint-Étienne and nearly quitting the sport, 30-year-old Morgane Belkhiter has found renewed purpose at her tenth club, Saint-Malo.

Morgane Belkhiter has never been afraid of change. At 30, the well-travelled midfielder has pitched up at Saint-Malo - her tenth club - determined to prove that her best football is far from behind her.
The move follows a bruising spell at Saint-Étienne, where she was frozen out of the first-team picture last season. It was, by her own admission, the hardest period of her career - one that pushed her close to walking away from the game entirely.
What pulled her through was her commitment to the Algerian national team. A regular since 2018, Belkhiter has witnessed a remarkable transformation - from a side that struggled at the CAN to one capable of finishing on the podium. That international duty, along with the backing of her coach, provided the spark she needed to keep going.
Early signs at Saint-Malo are encouraging. Belkhiter has already contributed to a win and a draw in the LFFP cup, and she has spoken warmly about the welcoming environment and the coaching staff's efforts to bring her into the tactical setup, as Footeuses reports.
Having missed part of pre-season due to CAN commitments, integration remains a work in progress - but the hunger is clear.
Ten clubs might raise eyebrows, but Belkhiter sees each stop as an opportunity rather than a setback. She recalls her time at ASJ Soyaux with particular fondness, despite the club's eventual demise. Her philosophy is simple: when a project no longer fits, move on.
Looking ahead, she wants to help Saint-Malo compete in the Arkema Première Ligue while also laying the groundwork for a future in coaching once her playing days end.
