The new Liga season got underway - and two Frenchwomen wasted no time making themselves heard. Sandie Toletti popped up from a corner to net a decisive goal as Real Madrid edged Atlético Madrid 3-2 in the derby. Over at Madrid CFF, Romane Lejeune marked her debut with style, helping her new side hammer Granada 3-1.
Louna Lapassouse bagged her first goal for Nuremberg since arriving from Toulouse, though her Bundesliga side had to settle for a 1-1 draw with Frankfurt.
Italy delivered two standout displays. Clarisse Le Bihan got on the scoresheet as Inter Milan demolished Napoli 6-0 in the Serie A Cup, while Léa Khelifi netted the winner in Juventus' 1-0 triumph over FC Como. Kysha Sylla also caught the eye in her first start for the Old Lady, as Footeuses reports.
Kenza Dali was instrumental as San Diego Wave fought back from behind to beat Racing Louisville 3-2. Perle Morroni also impressed, completing a tidy 90% of her passes in the final third.
The weekend's headline act? Nesrine Bahlouli. She plundered four goals for Al-Nassr in a 5-2 rout of Al-Ahli in the Saudi Supercup, ensuring her side retained the trophy. Not bad for a day's work.
