OL Lyonnes left absolutely no doubt about their intentions this season, demolishing Fleury 7-1 in a breathtaking opening-day display. Melchie Dumornay was the star, bagging a hat-trick as Lyon raced into a staggering 6-1 lead by half-time. Jule Brand was equally influential, setting up three goals, while Vicki Becho and Julie Swierot chipped in with key contributions of their own.
Both Parisian sides enjoyed comfortable starts. Paris Saint-Germain dispatched Lens 2-0, with Rasheedat Ajibade opening the scoring early before an own goal sealed the result. Paris FC matched that scoreline against Nantes - debutant Manoly Baquerizo marked her first appearance with a goal, and Clara Mateo forced an own goal to wrap things up.
Olympique de Marseille, bolstered by thirteen new signings, got off to a winning start against Le Havre. Nelly Da Cruz Rodrigues put them ahead, and though Kedie Johnson threatened an equaliser for the visitors, Marseille's goalkeeper stood firm.
Strasbourg edged Saint-Malo 3-2 in a tight contest, with Kristin Kögel pulling the strings. Montpellier were far more emphatic, hammering Toulouse 5-1. Aïrine Fontaine struck twice, supported by Natalia Oleszkiewicz and several promising youngsters.
Attention now turns to the next round on 11-12 September, headlined by a mouth-watering encounter between OL Lyonnes and Paris FC.
