Portland Thorns midfielder Olivia Moultrie faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after sustaining a right knee ACL injury during training, ending her 2026 NWSL season.

Portland Thorns have confirmed that Olivia Moultrie has suffered an ACL injury to her right knee, ruling the midfielder out for the rest of the 2026 NWSL campaign. The club has placed her on the Season-Ending Injury List.
The 21-year-old picked up the injury during a training session last week, Equalizer Soccer reports. Portland have pledged to deliver world-class care and rehabilitation throughout her recovery.
Beyond the remainder of the league season, Moultrie will also sit out the Concacaf Women's Championship, scheduled for November and December in Texas. It is a significant blow to both club and country.
Moultrie had been in superb form this year, starting 15 of 16 appearances and contributing five goals alongside five assists. Since joining the Thorns in 2021, she has racked up 79 starts across 108 outings. At international level, she has netted five times in 18 caps for the US women's national team.
A cruel setback for a player who was firing on all cylinders.
