Team USA demolished Hungary in the FIBA Women's World Cup quarterfinals, racking up a staggering 108 points - the highest total ever recorded in a World Cup quarter-final and tied for the second-most in any knockout-round fixture in the tournament's history.
Beyond the scoreboard fireworks, the Americans also rewrote the record books with 31 assists in a single game, a new World Cup best that underlined their devastating ball movement and collective attacking quality.
Napheesa Collier topped the scoring charts with 19 points in just 15 minutes on court, helping establish a commanding early advantage that Hungary never threatened to overturn. She was far from alone, though - five players hit double figures, with Rhyne Howard, Caitlin Clark, Kahleah Copper and Jackie Young all making significant contributions.
At the other end, Team USA's pressure was relentless. Hungary coughed up 27 turnovers and were largely shut out in the paint, leaving them with precious few avenues to score.
The reward is a semi-final clash against the winner of Spain versus Australia as the Americans continue their pursuit of a remarkable fifth consecutive World Cup gold medal. Few would bet against them reaching it.
