Mali Motrøen Trøan has swapped the Italian top flight for the familiar surroundings of Tynset IF, completing a move back to Norway on deadline day.
The 25-year-old spent one season with Napoli Women after joining from Tromsø IL in the summer of 2025. She featured 17 times in Serie A Women, finding the net once and registering a single assist.
Trøan's journey began at Tolga-Vingelen's youth set-up before she moved to Tynset in 2015. She progressed through the ranks and eventually joined Rosenborg in February 2020, then shifted to Tromsø a year later.
At Tromsø she became captain and enjoyed her most prolific spell - 16 goals in 27 appearances across all competitions in 2024. In her final season before heading to Naples, she managed five goals in 14 outings, as Soccerdonna reports.
Tynset currently sit in the 2. divisjon, the third tier of Norwegian women's football. It is a significant step down in level, but a homecoming nonetheless for a player whose roots run deep in the region.
