The United States women's basketball team steamrolled Hungary 108-56 in the FIBA World Cup quarterfinals, punching their ticket to the last four in emphatic fashion. The 52-point demolition extended their remarkable tournament winning streak to 34 matches - a run stretching all the way back to 2006.
Napheesa Collier topped the scoring charts with 19 points, spearheading an attack that fired on all cylinders. Caitlin Clark narrowly missed a double-double, finishing with 10 points and nine assists, while Angel Reese also made her presence felt in a thoroughly one-sided contest.
The American defence was equally ruthless. Hungary's leading scorer Dorka Juhasz, who plies her trade with the Minnesota Lynx, endured a miserable outing - managing just two points on a woeful 1-for-12 from the field.
The USA will now face the winner of the Spain-Australia clash for a place in the final. The Americans have reached the medal rounds at every tournament since the current format was introduced in 1983 - and on this evidence, stopping them looks a tall order.
