Angel Yin has silenced doubts over her fitness ahead of the Solheim Cup. The American was hit by stomach issues but has now completed two practice rounds at Bernardus Golf. She's ready to go.
Team USA have named Lilia Vu as their alternate. The former world No. 1 and two-time major winner is already onsite in the Netherlands. It's a curious pick, though. Vu has missed the cut in her last ten LPGA starts and carries a dismal 2-5-1 Solheim Cup record from two previous appearances.
Captain Angela Stanford reportedly played a key role in helping Yin commit to playing. Her backing appears to have settled nerves within the squad.
Jenny Bae, Lucy Li, and newly-turned professional Kiara Romero were all reportedly considered for the alternate spot before Vu got the nod.
