Oktagon MMA strawweight champion Katharina Dalisda faces a familiar foe this Saturday when she takes on Eva Dourthe in the main event of Oktagon 53 at Rudolf Weber-Arena in Oberhausen, Germany.
The Frankfurt-based fighter heads into the bout riding an impressive five-fight winning streak, boasting a 10-3 professional record. Her last two victories were finished early, underlining her growing stopping power.
Dalisda and Dourthe have history. The champion claimed a comfortable decision win over the Frenchwoman in a separate promotion three years ago. Dourthe, however, arrives in far better form this time around, having rattled off three straight wins of her own, as Sherdog reports.
Dalisda says she feels physically and mentally primed for the challenge. Her camp has been split between her home base in Frankfurt and a grappling-focused stint in Malaga, Spain - a clear sign she is leaving nothing to chance.
The champion became Oktagon's inaugural strawweight titleholder after victories over Isabela de Pauda and Jacinta Austin. Now the task is to keep hold of that belt.
Dalisda has been candid about the weight of expectation that comes with being champion but insists she will do whatever it takes to walk out of the cage with the gold still around her waist.
