Interim champion Phetjeeja OrMeekhun left no doubt at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, claiming the unified ONE Championship atomweight kickboxing crown with a unanimous decision over Janet Todd. The bout headlined ONE Fight Night 20 - an all-female, nine-fight card staged in honour of International Women's Day.
Todd, returning after more than a year away from competition, kept things competitive for much of the contest. But Phetjeeja's movement and sharp counter-striking proved the difference, and a knockdown in the dying seconds put an exclamation mark on her performance, as Sherdog reports.
Allycia Hellen Rodrigues held on to her atomweight muay thai belt, outpointing Cristina Morales by unanimous decision. After a sluggish opening, Rodrigues found her range with punishing body work through the middle rounds to pull clear.
Jackie Buntan earned a unanimous nod over Martine Michieletto, Chihiro Sawada got past Jihin Radzuan, and Ekaterina Vandaryeva snapped a losing run by beating Martyna Kierczynska. Yu Yau Pui defeated Lara Fernandez at catchweight, Noelle Grandjean topped Victoria Souza, and Mayssa Bastos bested Kanae Yamada in a grappling bout. Shir Cohen rounded off the night with a second-round TKO of Teodora Kirilova.
