Claressa Shields has once again stamped her authority on women's boxing, stopping Kaye Scott in the sixth round to claim the WBA World Middleweight Championship.
The American was in imperious form against her Australian opponent, controlling the contest from the opening bell with sharp combinations and relentless pressure.
Shields turned up the heat in the sixth, pinning Scott against the ropes and unleashing a barrage of unanswered shots. With Scott unable to mount any meaningful defence, the referee stepped in to wave it off - handing Shields a technical knockout victory.
The win marks Shields' return to the 160-pound division and sees her reclaim the prestigious WBA black-and-gold belt, as The World Boxing Association confirmed.
Few in the sport will be surprised. Shields' blend of speed, power and ring intelligence made this a mismatch from the outset - and she proved once more why she remains one of the most formidable figures in women's boxing.
