Bayern Munich arrive in Leverkusen on Sunday with a flawless record - three wins from three, 10 goals scored, and just two conceded. That 3.3 goals-per-game average is devastating. A 4-1 demolition of Freiburg last weekend underlined their ruthless attacking edge.
Bayer Leverkusen sit on six points but carry a glaring weakness: their sole home match ended in a 1-2 loss to Wolfsburg. Away from home they've been clinical - wins at Leipzig and Hoffenheim - yet defending their own turf remains a problem.
Bayern have won all six recent meetings, scoring 15 and conceding just three. Leverkusen were shut out in four of those six fixtures. Last December's 3-0 Bayern victory at this same venue was emphatic, and the October 2024 clash saw Leverkusen lead at half-time before Bayern stormed back to win 3-2.
Bayern's firepower against Leverkusen's fragile home defence is the defining matchup. Leverkusen have scored in every game this season, so a clean sheet for Bayern is not guaranteed. But history and current form both point firmly in one direction. Leverkusen will need their best performance of the campaign to break the pattern.
