A solitary goal from Tuva Skoog was all Malmö FF needed to see off Eskilstuna United at Stadion on Saturday, grinding out a 1-0 win that cements their grip on third place in the Damallsvenskan.
Skoog, deployed in an unfamiliar striker role having previously operated out wide, pounced on a defensive lapse from Eskilstuna in the 34th minute to settle the contest.
Goalkeeper Zecira Musovic praised the team's defensive resolve after the final whistle, stressing how crucial it was to collect all three points while keeping a clean sheet. Eskilstuna did threaten at times but ultimately lacked the cutting edge to find an equaliser.
The result strengthens Malmö's hold on third, though they remain more than ten points adrift of the league's frontrunners. Still, the consistency of results like these keeps their European ambitions alive heading into the autumn stretch of the campaign.
