FC Porto's women's side face Valadares Gaia today at 5pm in their first-ever top-flight fixture - and coach Daniel Chaves wants three points from the off.

FC Porto's women's team take their first steps in top-flight football today, travelling to Pedroso to face Valadares Gaia in the league's opening fixture. Kick-off is at 5pm.
Head coach Daniel Chaves is under no illusions about what's required. With just 18 rounds in the season, he insists there's no room for a slow start. Grabbing all three points from the opener is, in his view, non-negotiable.
It won't be easy, mind. Valadares Gaia finished fourth last term and reached the League Cup final. They've reshuffled their squad over the summer, but Chaves still considers them among the division's strongest sides in recent memory, as OneFootball reports.
Daniela Areia Santos is buzzing. The defender acknowledged the challenges ahead but promised her side would show ambition and hunger for a positive result from the very first whistle.
Both Chaves and Santos have urged supporters to make the trip to Pedroso and pack out the stands. Nothing quite like a raucous away end to settle first-day nerves.
