FC Bayern Frauen are eyeing history this Sunday as they welcome SC Freiburg to the FC Bayern Campus in the fourth round of the Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga. Kick-off is set for 16:00.
José Barcala's side head into the fixture having equalled their all-time record of 44 Bundesliga matches unbeaten, courtesy of a 2-0 victory over 1. FSV Mainz 05 - their first home win of the campaign. A result against Freiburg would see them stand alone at the top of that particular chart.
SC Freiburg finished eighth last term and have started the new season in decent shape. A 1-1 draw with Hamburger SV was followed by a 1-0 win over Union Berlin. Despite losing some key personnel over the summer, fresh additions have kept them competitive.
Barcala will be without Anna Klink and Stine Ballisager, both sidelined through injury. Franziska Kett and Alara Şehitler are also expected to miss out due to illness. On a brighter note, Sarah Zadrazil could return to the matchday squad.
Supporters heading to the Campus can look forward to pre-match entertainment including live music and a player meet-and-greet. A shuttle bus will run between Studentenstadt and the ground before and after the game.
