Juventus all-time appearance record holder Barbara Bonansea has joined San Diego Wave on loan after extending her contract in Turin until 2027.

Barbara Bonansea is swapping Turin for California. The Italian forward has signed a loan deal with San Diego Wave after nearly a decade at Juventus - but not before putting pen to paper on a contract extension that ties her to the Italian giants until June 30, 2027.
Bonansea arrived at Juventus in 2017 and quickly etched her name into the club's history books. She netted the Bianconere's first-ever Serie A goal and their maiden strike in the UEFA Women's Champions League. Across 248 competitive outings - more than any other player in the history of Juventus Women - she bagged 96 goals and helped deliver 16 trophies, including six league titles and four Italian Cup triumphs.
Few players leave a footprint quite like that. Now, as OneFootball reports, Bonansea will test herself in American football's top flight. San Diego Wave are getting a proven winner - and Juventus have ensured the door remains firmly open for her return.
