Deportivo Alavés and Granada both carry one win and one defeat into this Round 3 clash in the Primera División Femenina, but the nature of those results tells very different stories. Alavés opened the campaign with a commanding 2-0 home victory over Valencia before falling 1-0 at Atletico Madrid. Granada, meanwhile, lost 3-1 away to Madrid CFF on matchday one, then roared back with a thrilling 3-2 home win over Real Sociedad.
The key dynamic here is venue. Alavés have been impeccable at home - two goals scored, none conceded, a clean sheet banked. Granada's sole away outing produced just one goal and a three-goal deficit. That contrast hands the hosts a clear edge on paper.
Granada average two goals per game this season but concede 2.5. Their home win over Real Sociedad was a five-goal thriller, and defensively they have yet to keep a clean sheet. Alavés are more disciplined at the back but struggled for attacking output on the road. At home, however, they look a different proposition entirely.
Expect Alavés to lean on defensive solidity and use home advantage to dictate the tempo. Granada will need to be far sharper away from home than they were at Madrid CFF. If the hosts replicate their opening-day performance, they should be tough to break down - but Granada's attacking intent makes a low-scoring affair far from certain.
