Edf Logroño head into Round 3 desperate to put things right on home soil. Their season opened brilliantly with a 2-0 away win at Real Sociedad, but that momentum vanished last weekend when Athletic Club came to town and left with all three points after a 1-0 victory. The hosts failed to score at home - a trend they must reverse quickly.
Valencia arrive in Logroño pointless and under pressure. A 2-0 defeat at Deportivo Alavés on Matchday 1 was followed by a 3-1 home loss to Madrid CFF. Five goals conceded in two matches paints a bleak defensive picture, and their sole goal this campaign underlines a lack of cutting edge at both ends.
The contrast in away versus home form is striking. Logroño's only win came on the road, while their home record reads zero goals scored and one conceded. Valencia, meanwhile, have looked vulnerable everywhere - conceding an average of 2.5 goals per game. Something has to give. Logroño boast a clean sheet away and will feel confident they can keep Valencia quiet, but converting chances at home remains their biggest challenge.
Logroño should fancy their chances against the league's leakiest defence so far. If they replicate the attacking intent shown at Real Sociedad, Valencia could be in for another long afternoon. Yet Logroño's home struggles add uncertainty. Expect a tight contest where the first goal could prove decisive.
