Washington Spirit striker Ashley Hatch is set to return to competitive football on Saturday night after being officially activated from maternity leave. The forward welcomed a son earlier this year and is now ready to lace up her boots once more.
Hatch has been a cornerstone of the Washington Spirit since arriving in 2018. Across eight seasons, she's racked up 140 appearances and 52 goals - numbers that underline her importance to the club. Her career path before Washington took her through North Carolina Courage, a stint with Melbourne City in Australia, and the collegiate ranks at Brigham Young University, as Equalizer Soccer reports.
Beyond the domestic game, Hatch boasts 23 caps and five goals for the US women's national team - experience that adds serious quality to a Spirit side eager to have her back in the squad.
