Atlético Madrid have snapped up 19-year-old forward Celia Segura on loan from FC Barcelona. The deal hands the capital club one of Spain's most promising young attackers.
Segura netted 10 goals in 23 appearances for Barcelona's youth side last season, helping them clinch the Primera RFEF title. Not bad for a teenager.
The timing could hardly be better. Segura arrives on the back of winning the European U19 Championship with Spain, where the side defeated Germany in the final. She clocked 296 minutes across five matches, bagging a goal and an assist along the way, Liga F reports.
Segura's pedigree stretches back years. During the 2018/2019 season she was Barcelona's youth system top scorer with a staggering 121 goals. She has trained with Barça's first team but is yet to make her Liga F Moeve debut.
Segura has already begun preseason training at her new club and has spoken of her desire to learn from teammates and contribute immediately. Atlético may just have pulled off one of the shrewdest moves of the summer.
