Bayern Munich's women have received a significant boost ahead of their Frauen-Bundesliga clash with 1. FSV Mainz, with Giulia Gwinn named in the starting line-up and Lena Oberdorf included on the bench.
Gwinn has fought her way back from shoulder surgery, while Oberdorf's return is all the more remarkable - this is her comeback following a second ACL injury. Having both available simultaneously is a timely lift for the Bavarians.
This is Bayern's second league fixture of the campaign, and the stakes are already high. A win against Mainz would see them draw level with current leaders VfL Wolfsburg at the top of the table, Sport1 reports.
Bayern are chasing a fifth consecutive Frauen-Bundesliga title, and closing the gap on Wolfsburg this early in the season would send a clear statement of intent.
