Real Sociedad welcome Granadilla Tenerife on Saturday in a Round 3 clash in the Primera División Femenina, and neither side has managed a victory this season. Real Sociedad sit on zero points after losses to EDF Logroño (0-2 at home) and Granada (3-2 away), while Granadilla Tenerife have a single point from a 0-0 home draw with Deportivo de La Coruña following an opening-day 5-0 thrashing at Barcelona.
Real Sociedad have scored twice in two league matches but conceded five - a leaky defensive record that will worry the coaching staff. Granadilla Tenerife face the opposite crisis: they have not scored a single league goal this term, blanking in both fixtures. Something has to give when a side that cannot stop conceding meets one that cannot find the net.
Remarkably, Granadilla Tenerife have been the dominant force in this fixture recently. They won 2-1 at Real Sociedad last October and hammered them 4-1 at home in May 2025. The sides drew 1-1 in Tenerife in February. Real Sociedad's last home win in this matchup came in December 2024 (2-0), but the overall trend has tilted firmly towards the islanders.
Real Sociedad's busy schedule - including two UEFA Champions League ties against Chelsea in late August - may have taken a toll on legs and confidence. Granadilla Tenerife's goalscoring drought is a major concern, yet their defensive resilience at home (one clean sheet in two games) hints at a solid backline that could frustrate the hosts. Expect a tight, low-scoring contest where the first goal could prove decisive.
