Mitchell and Clark Power Fever Past Tempo

Indiana Fever made light work of Toronto Tempo on Monday night, with Kelsey Mitchell and Caitlin Clark combining for 53 points in a dominant team display.

Mitchell was electric from the off, pouring in 16 points in the opening quarter alone and finishing with 29. Her outing extended a remarkable streak - she has now scored 20 or more points in 20 consecutive games, equalling a WNBA record.

Clark chipped in 24 points of her own, further strengthening her case for the MVP award in her third professional season. The Fever have now won 10 of their last 12 games, and Clark's consistency has been central to that surge.

Supporting Cast Steps Up

It wasn't a two-player show. Aliyah Boston added 16 points, while Sophie Cunningham knocked down all three of her 3-point attempts on the way to 13 points. Indiana controlled proceedings from start to finish.

Tempo's Losing Run Deepens

Toronto's struggles showed no sign of letting up. Marina Mabrey top-scored for the Tempo with 22 points, and Brittney Sykes marked her return from injury with 15, but it wasn't enough. A late flurry of back-to-back 3-pointers from Mabrey briefly raised hopes, yet the deficit proved too great. It was an 11th straight defeat for the expansion side.

Off-Court Talking Points

The game also drew attention away from the court. Cunningham, who has publicly opposed transgender athletes competing in women's sport, received a mixed reception from supporters. A banner advocating transgender rights was unfurled during a timeout.
