She stressed that her relationship with the programme remains strong despite the setback, as ESPN reports.
Li was China's leading scorer at the 2024 Paris Olympics and had been eagerly anticipating another chance to represent her country. Her absence is a significant loss, but the squad still boasts formidable talent. Han Xu and Zhang Ziyu will anchor the side as China take on their Group D opponents.
