The Danish midfielder leaves Serie A Women's side FC Como after one season to focus on a career in psychology.

Danish midfielder Mathilde Kruse Madsen has parted ways with FC Como Women after a single season in Italy, choosing to return to Denmark and pursue a career in psychology.
The 30-year-old's deal originally ran until June 2028, but both parties agreed to an early termination. Madsen made 22 Serie A Women appearances for Como - starting 19 - and found the net once in the league, as Soccerdonna reports. She also scored in the Serie A Women's Cup against Genoa.
Having joined Como from Brann Kvinner in the summer of 2025, Madsen settled quickly and became a regular starter. But her psychology studies have now taken priority, prompting the move back to Scandinavia.
Before her spell in Italy, Madsen represented Brann and Stabæk in Norway, as well as KoldingQ and AGF in her native Denmark.
