Paris FC kick off their Feminine Division 1 campaign on Saturday when they host Nantes in the opening round of the 2026-27 season. It marks a fresh start for a Paris FC side that enjoyed a strong 2025-26 run, reaching the Round of 16 in the UEFA Champions League.
The Parisians tested themselves against elite opposition last season. They beat SL Benfica 2-0 at home, edged Vålerenga 1-0 away, and lost narrowly to Barcelona (0-2) before bowing out to Real Madrid across two legs (2-3 and 0-2). That Champions League experience should give them a tactical edge heading into domestic action.
Nantes arrive with far less recent visibility at the top level. Facing a battle-hardened Paris FC on their own turf is a daunting opening-day assignment, and they will need to be disciplined defensively to avoid being overwhelmed.
Paris FC's European defensive record - conceding seven goals across five Champions League matches - suggests they are solid but not impenetrable. Their home form, however, looks strong. Expect the hosts to control possession and create the better chances, while Nantes look to frustrate and hit on the counter. Paris FC start as clear favourites, but opening-day fixtures can spring surprises.
