FC Porto are about to have the kind of week that makes squad rotation less of a tactic and more of a survival strategy. Starting tomorrow, the Dragons face a relentless run of fixtures across multiple competitions - and yes, Manchester City are first up.
On September 8, FC Porto B take on City at 12:00 in the Youth League opener, before the senior side welcome Pep Guardiola's men to Estádio do Dragão at 20:00 for Champions League Matchday 1. No pressure.
September 9 sees FC Porto's handball squad travel to Veszprém Arena for their Champions League opener against Veszprém HC (17:45). Meanwhile, the Under-17s visit SC Beira-Mar in Aveiro at 20:00.
On September 10, volleyball gets a look-in as FC Porto host Leixões SC in a presentation match at Dragão Arena (20:00).
September 12 is frankly absurd. SL Benfica face FC Porto in handball at Pavilhão No. 2 da Luz (15:00). Simultaneously, the Under-19s play FC Famalicão. The women's team then visit Valadares Gaia at Estádio de Pedroso (17:00), and at 18:00, Casa Pia host Porto in Liga Portugal Matchday 6 at Estádio Municipal de Rio Maior.
The week closes on September 13 with the Under-17s facing Leixões SC at 11:00 at Estádio de Pedroso. Someone get these lot a nap, as OneFootball reports.
