An own goal from Julia Zigiotti Olme gave London City the lead, and Daniëlle van de Donk doubled the advantage in the second half. United, under new management, barely threatened - their first shot on target didn't arrive until the 97th minute. Ouch.
Putellas was pleased with the result but honest about the road ahead, admitting the squad still needs time to gel as they adapt to the league. Manager Eder Maestre echoed that sentiment, pointing to the challenge of blending so many talented newcomers into a cohesive unit, ESPN reports.
If this is the starting point, opponents should probably be worried about what comes next.
