Ruoning Yin delivered a clinical third-round performance to seize the lead at the FM Championship. A birdie from just off the 18th green capped a 4-under 68 that leaves her at 12-under 204 heading into the final round.
She also drained a 20-foot putt for birdie on the par-3 16th. That kind of composure under pressure is what separates contenders from pretenders.
One stroke back sit Sei Young Kim and Hyo Joo Kim - both 11-under and very much in the hunt. Sei Young Kim bounced back brilliantly from a second-round 74 with a 67 after opening with a first-round 64. Hyo Joo Kim, already a two-time winner this season, posted a steady 70.
Somi Lee and Jenny Bae share fourth place at 8-under. Miyu Yamashita, who was tied for the lead after round two, collapsed with a 75 and slipped down the board.
World number one Nelly Korda continues to struggle. A third consecutive 72 leaves her tied for 49th - a frankly embarrassing position for a player of her calibre. European Solheim Cup captain Anna Nordqvist bowed out with a 73, finishing at 1-over in what was her final LPGA Tour event.
