When Boston Legacy kicked off their very first match on 14 March 2026, the loudest voices inside Gillette Stadium belonged to a group that had been preparing for months. The Boston Independent Supporters' Association - known simply as the ISA - unfurled a tifo bearing the words "Our Legacy Takes Flight" and filled their section with colour, noise, and hand-knitted scarves.
The ISA didn't wait for results to start building something. From the moment Boston Legacy was confirmed as an NWSL expansion franchise, the group got to work - connecting with fellow fans, forging relationships with the club's front office, and laying the groundwork for a proper supporter culture.
It hasn't all been straightforward. Legacy have endured a difficult start on the pitch, and without a permanent home ground the matchday experience has required constant adaptation. None of that has dimmed the ISA's commitment, as reported by The Guardian. The group has shown up at every fixture, determined to make the atmosphere count regardless of scorelines or venue.
Inclusivity sits at the heart of the ISA's mission. The association actively welcomes supporters of all backgrounds and has been vocal in its advocacy for representation in women's football - including visible support for trans fans and athletes.
