Jessica Bang, an 18-year-old Australian golfer, has died in Thailand after collapsing during a qualifying event earlier this month. She had already won her first professional tournament in just five starts.

Australian golfer Jessica Bang has died at the age of 18 after suffering a brain haemorrhage in Thailand. She collapsed on 1 August during a qualifying event and was rushed to a Bangkok hospital, where surgeons operated on her brain.
Bang spent several days in intensive care on life support following the emergency procedure. Her family remained at her bedside throughout. The WPGA Tour of Australasia confirmed her death.
What makes this even more devastating is just how bright Bang's future looked. She earned her tour card through qualifying school at the end of last year. By just her fifth professional start, she had already claimed her first victory. An 18-year-old winning that quickly is extraordinary - and now the sport will never know what she could have become.
