NJ/NY Gotham FC head to California tomorrow to take on Angel City FC in their first meeting of the 2026 season. Gotham arrive in blistering form - eight games unbeaten, with four consecutive wins under their belt.
The last time these sides met was September's encounter, which Angel City won 3-1. But that result feels like ancient history. Gotham haven't lost to Angel City since 2022, and they'll fancy their chances of keeping that run alive.
Angel City FC sit in 10th place and are scrapping for relevance this campaign. They still need two more points just to match last season's tally, though their 2026 form has been marginally better than a difficult 2025.
Gotham are expected to go on the front foot. One intriguing possibility is deploying Guro Reiten and Midge Purce in deeper roles, freeing up additional firepower further forward.
