NJ/NY Gotham FC welcome Portland Thorns FC to Sports Illustrated Stadium tonight in a clash that could go a long way towards settling the 2026 NWSL Shield. Kick-off is set for 8:00 PM ET, with Amazon Prime Video carrying the stream.
Gotham sit top of the table on 44 points - seven clear of both Portland and the Washington Spirit. A win tonight would be a serious statement of intent.
The hosts will be missing Rose Lavelle, who entered concussion protocol following an earlier fixture. Sofia Cook, Kayla Duran, and Emily Sonnett are also sidelined, while goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger is listed as questionable.
That absence could open the door for Guro Reiten to push further forward into the attack. The Norwegian has racked up four assists this season and could prove decisive in a more advanced role.
Portland are far from making up the numbers. Pietra Tordin has been one of the league's standout performers with seven goals and nine assists, and she'll fancy her chances against a Gotham side depleted at the back.
Conditions at the stadium in Harrison, New Jersey should be pleasant - around 78°F with 65% humidity. No excuses for either side.
