Leicester City have locked down midfielder Emilia Pelgander on a fresh deal running until the summer of 2028. Not bad for a Friday announcement.
The 22-year-old Swede, who arrived from KIF Örebro DFF in early 2024, has racked up 18 appearances across all competitions. Along the way, loan stints at FC Rosengård and HB Køge helped sharpen her game - clearly enough to convince the club she's worth keeping around.
Pelgander wasted no time justifying the new contract. She started Leicester's Barclays WSL2 opener against Sheffield United, helping the side grind out a 1-0 victory at The King Power Stadium. A win and a new deal in the same week? She'll take that.
