Gotham finally crack Kansas City

Gotham FC picked up a landmark result at the weekend, beating Kansas City Current 2-1 for their first ever regular-season victory over the side. Midge Purce opened the scoring before Sam Kerr bagged her 80th regular-season goal to seal the deal and extend Gotham's unbeaten run to eight matches, keeping them perched at the top of the NWSL table.

It wasn't all plain sailing, though. Kansas City rookie Amelia White stunned Gotham by finding the net just 22 seconds in - the fastest goal in NWSL history.

Utah's Japanese trio write themselves into the record books

Over in Utah, Miyabi Moriya, Narumi Miura, and Mina Tanaka all scored as the Royals edged Bay FC 3-2. It was the first time three Japanese players had scored for the same team in a single NWSL match - a genuinely historic moment, as NWSL reports.

Emotional comebacks steal the show

Caiya Hanks made a stunning return from a torn ACL, scoring the winner as Portland Thorns beat Orlando Pride 2-1. Ashley Hatch was back after maternity leave, while Sydney Leroux returned following a mental health break.

Milestones and celebrations

Evelyn Ijeh hit double figures for the season - the second-fastest player to reach ten goals in NWSL history. Trinity Rodman matched that tally, setting a new career high and marking the occasion with a Michael Jackson-inspired dance. Purce, meanwhile, went full Spider-Man with her celebration. Ashley Sanchez and Tara Rudd both passed 10,000 career regular-season minutes.

Other results

Seattle Reign beat Chicago Stars 1-0, Racing Louisville hammered Boston Legacy 4-1, Houston Dash edged North Carolina Courage 3-2, while San Diego Wave and Denver Summit shared a 1-1 draw - as did Angel City FC and Washington Spirit.
