Washington's cushion over the chasing pack means they can absorb a stumble - but two straight losses risk letting Utah Royals (33 points) and San Diego Wave (32) close the gap. Angel City need results to stay inside the top eight, especially with Seattle Reign level on 24 points directly behind them.
Washington's recent defensive vulnerability and Angel City's improving home form create an intriguing contest. The Spirit remain the stronger side on paper, but their confidence has taken a knock. Angel City's back-to-back wins give them belief, and the head-to-head record suggests goals at both ends. Expect a tight, open match where momentum could prove decisive.
