Hammarby steamrolled Gamla Upsala SK 5-0 on Wednesday evening to book their place in next year's Swedish Cup group stage. The result was never in doubt as Ida Marin Hermannsdottir ran riot with a superb hat-trick.
The Icelandic forward struck twice before the break, setting the tone early. She completed her treble in the second half, by which point the contest was long settled.
Anna Linder and Mari Nyhagen each found the net to round off a comprehensive victory. Gamla Upsala, competing in the final qualifying round, simply had no answer.
Hammarby now turn their attention back to the Damallsvenskan, where a clash with Växjö lies ahead. They sit second in the table, trailing leaders Häcken by just two points - ensuring the stakes remain sky-high as the season progresses.
