OL Lyonnes have unveiled their brand-new mascot - and she's already got a job to do. Named Lyonna, the character will make her first public appearance this Saturday at Groupama Stadium when the club hosts Paris FC in a mouth-watering rematch of the Arkema Première Ligue final.
Lyonna cuts a striking figure. Sporting a long red and blue braid alongside a golden crown, she's been designed to be instantly recognisable to supporters. Her role? Patrolling the touchline to whip up the atmosphere and keep fans engaged throughout matchday, as OneFootball reports.
The mascot launch follows an active summer for Jonatan Giráldez's side, who brought in four new players during the transfer window. Adding Lyonna to the matchday experience is the latest move in what appears to be a concerted effort to strengthen every aspect of the club - both on and off the pitch.
